Opening Pathways to College: HTC Prioritizes Access for Students from Low-Income Families

Holy Trinity College of General Santos City (HTC) continues to advance its commitment to accessible higher education by prioritizing students from low-income households through its scholarship programs and student assistance initiatives. Recognizing that financial hardship should not prevent deserving learners from pursuing a college degree, the institution provides opportunities for qualified students to receive financial support and pursue their academic goals.

For the second semester of Academic Year 2025–2026, HTC recorded 1,250 scholarship recipients across nine scholarship and assistance categories. These include the DITO Scholarship, Entrance Scholarships, Trinitarian Auxiliary Staff (TAS) program, Working Student Subsidy Benefit, assistance for persons with disabilities (PWD), outreach scholarships, Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES), Tulong Dunong Program (TDP), and EdukAR.

The scholarship programs provide different forms of assistance to help students manage educational expenses. Through the TAS program, qualified working students can access opportunities to support their education while gaining work experience within the institution. Government-supported assistance, meanwhile, helps eligible students from financially disadvantaged households continue their studies.

HTC remains committed to reaching more students who need educational support by encouraging prospective applicants to consult with the institution regarding their eligibility for available scholarships and working-student opportunities. Through these initiatives, the College seeks to reduce financial barriers, widen access to higher education, and help students from disadvantaged backgrounds work toward completing their degrees.

Through its continuing scholarship initiatives, Holy Trinity College reinforces its commitment to making higher education more accessible and creating opportunities for students whose financial circumstances may otherwise limit their educational aspirations.
