Holy Trinity College: A Platform for Public Service, Safety, and Well-being!

Holy Trinity College has significantly reinforced its role as a key community partner by strategically leveraging the HTC Trinidad Complex as a vital resource for safety and capacity building in General Santos City. Over the past year, HTC has actively opened its specialized areas and campus grounds to government and private organizations, ensuring the successful execution of high-impact events that directly benefit the welfare of the local community. This collaboration was evident in two significant events centered on public safety. First, the 2nd Mayor Lorelie G. Pacquiao Fire Olympics 2024 (May 30, 2024), where the Complex served as the host venue for the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Gensan and local fire brigades to sharpen their preparedness, highlighting the collaborative effort involving HTC, the BFP, and corporate entities like KCC Mall of Gensan. Second, the Rescuer’s Survival Technique and High Angle Rescue (Rappelling) training (November 20, 2024), where the college’s facilities provided a realistic environment for a crucial practical exercise for the Philippine National Police (PNP), directly contributing to the skill development of our first responders.

This comprehensive engagement, characterized by resource sharing and crucial cross-sector partnerships, directly strengthens HTC's commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

  • SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being). The activities provided direct, essential use of the institution’s facilities fostering readiness and maintaining fitness, good health and well-being.
  • SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions). By providing its facilities for the BFP Fire Olympics and PNP training, HTC supports strong institutional capacity and cooperation.
  • SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). The successful execution of these public safety initiatives requires collaboration between HTC (education), the BFP/PNP (government), and corporate entities like KCC Mall of Gensan.
