HTC Joins National R&D and Innovation Dialogue in Iloilo

Holy Trinity College of General Santos City (HTC) participated in the 4th PCIEERD National Consortia Conference and General Assembly Meeting held on August 26–27, 2026, at the Grand Xing Imperial Hotel in Iloilo City, represented by Dr. Haya Jane E. Elan, a Technical Working Committee (TWC) member and HTC representative to the SOXIEERDC.

The two-day conference brought together regional consortia for discussions on strengthening the country’s research, development, and innovation (R&D&I) ecosystem through collaboration and strategic planning.

One of the key activities was the Workshop on Strengthening Regional Leadership through Industry–Academe–Government Collaboration, which focused on translating previous consortium outputs into concrete priorities for 2027. Discussions covered technology and digital capability gaps, R&D investment priorities, and HRIDD programs aligned with emerging technologies and regional needs.

The workshop also identified potential priority areas for the 2027 Call for Proposals, including Artificial Intelligence, Semiconductors, Synthetic Biology, Marine and Maritime Technologies, Quantum and Computing Technologies, and Nuclear Science and Technologies, alongside region-specific research priorities.

For HTC, the participation provided an avenue to contribute to discussions on research and innovation priorities responsive to regional challenges and strengthened through industry–academe–government partnerships.

During the closing of the conference, SOXIEERDC was announced as the host of the 2027 General Assembly, further positioning the region as a venue for advancing collaborative research and innovation initiatives.
