Building a Culture of Life-Saving Preparedness: HTC and Philippine Red Cross Train Students in CPR

Holy Trinity College (HTC) strengthened its commitment to campus safety and public health through a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training program conducted in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross – General Santos City and Sarangani Province (GenSar) Chapter Safety Service. Held on July 17–18, 2025, the initiative aimed to train 2,000 HTC students as part of the kick-off activities for National CPR Day 2025.

The training introduced students to the importance of CPR and its role in responding to cardiac emergencies. CPR is a life-saving procedure that helps maintain blood circulation to the brain and other vital organs when a person’s heart stops beating effectively. Through this initiative, students were given an opportunity to develop essential emergency response knowledge and skills that they can apply in situations where immediate assistance is needed.

By working with the Philippine Red Cross, HTC supported the promotion of life-saving education and strengthened awareness of community preparedness. The collaboration also reflects the importance of partnerships between educational institutions and humanitarian organizations in advancing public health and safety initiatives.

Through activities such as this, HTC encourages students to become more informed and prepared members of society, contributing to a culture of readiness, shared responsibility, and life-saving action.
