Every Drop Counts: HTC Combines Water Conservation Awareness with Sustainable Campus Practices

Holy Trinity College of General Santos City, Inc. promotes responsible water use through campus sustainability initiatives and water conservation awareness. Recognizing water as a precious resource, the College encourages the Trinitarian community to adopt simple yet meaningful practices that help protect water resources and ensure their availability for future generations.

As part of its water management efforts, HTC has established a rainwater collection and filtration system that allows collected rainwater to be reused in the school’s fish pond. Powered by solar energy, the system integrates renewable energy into campus operations while promoting water reuse and reducing reliance on conventional water sources.

Beyond its campus facilities, the College also advocates everyday water-saving practices through its “Every Drop Counts. Every Action Matters.” campaign. The initiative encourages students, employees, and community members to turn off faucets when not in use, repair leaking pipes, use only the water they need, reuse water whenever appropriate, and avoid wasting clean and potable water. It also emphasizes the importance of keeping rivers, streams, and other water sources free from pollution.

The institution monitors its water consumption through the Supply and Management Office and the Facility Management Office. HTC also maintains a standardized drainage system as part of its campus facilities, supporting its broader efforts to manage water resources responsibly.

Through these initiatives, HTC highlights that water conservation requires both institutional action and individual responsibility. By combining sustainable campus practices with public awareness, the College encourages the Trinitarian community to take part in protecting water resources and building a more water-conscious and sustainable environment.
